of the "PowerCommerce" family of products, PowerWebBuilder
is a convenient browser-based web page editing program created by
Mercantec. This user-friendly program allows you to point and click and
drag and drop elements (such as images and text) throughout the web page
layout. The start up wizard provides simple steps for choosing a
design template and customizing the content of the pages.
The
introductory version supports creation of 3 template pages and is
included for free with all customer accounts. An upgraded 5-page version
is available for an additional fee. The unlimited page version is also
available at additional cost or is included for free with PowerCommerce
E-commerce Hosting Plans.

Five-step
Quick Start Wizard steps you though the basics needed to
publish your site online. Enter your site name, contact information, a
summary of your site, and select your site design in the Wizard. Once
you complete the five steps, you select Publish and your site is
online, ready for business!
Browser
Based site creation allows for easy updates to your
site. You don't need to download or install any software programs,
making publishing your site simple. Your entire web site is stored
online, rather than your machine, so you do not need to learn FTP or
dial into your service provider's servers.

Editing Tools
Web
Site Manager allows you to further customize your
site once completing the Wizard. Here you will have access to
drag-and-drop functionality so you can easily move site elements around,
such as text areas, images, and other site elements.
Themes are
assigned to your pages in the Manager. Themes define the layout of your
pages and determine the color and other look and feel aspects of your
pages. The Manager has a number of themes to choose from, or
you can create your own to match your business identity.
Image
Library and Editor are included with
PowerWebBuilder. You can upload your own images, or choose from over
1,000 images that are included in the image library. Once you've
selected an image, you can perform a variety of edits, such as crop,
resize, and grey scale. All of this is done on the web host's
server, meaning you don't have to download or install any software onto
your desktop.
Advanced
Features such as WebLogs, Slideshows, and Mapquest
maps are easy to create and include as part of your web site. You
can also include many other interactive features, such as Visitor
counters, Calculators, scrolling text, and much more.
Search
Engine Friendly meta tags are created in the Manager
and applied to your site templates. Meta tags are keywords and
descriptions that describe your site, making it easier for search
engines to find your web site more easily.
Web
Site Maintenance is done in the Manager. Once your site
is published, use the Manager to make changes to your site. You
will always be able to preview your site before it goes live. Drive your
