Depending on your particular needs, your web site might require a certain type of server platform to function properly. For example, in order to use a Microsoft Access database, you would need a Windows server platform for your site; while if you are not using any Microsoft-specific technologies, a Unix platform may perform well for your web site hosting solution.  For Commerce Blvd's Unix platform accounts, we use the Solaris operating system.
