Reliable Server Network

All web sites on our shared-hosting environment are served by lighting fast SUN servers. Our data center facility is located on a large campus built and occupied by IBM in Austin, Texas.

Network Infrastructure

• We have a dual fiber-optic OC48 pipeline leading into its server room, which has a capacity of 4,976.64 Mb/Sec (4.86Gb/Sec), equivalent to 96 T3 circuits, or 2,688 T1 circuits!

• Connectivity to multiple Backbone providers for speed, capacity, and redundancy.

• Internet Backbone level routing:
  We use top of the line Cisco 12000 and 7500 Series Routers.

Software

• Stable and Reliable Operating System - SUN Solaris for all Servers

• Cutting Edge Web Server Software - Apache, which currently has a 40% market share that is increasing. Apache is by far the leader in serving web sites.

Reliability Features

All servers are housed in our state-of-the-art facility located on a large campus which was built by IBM. The facility is monitored around the clock by both on-site security personnel and an off-site monitoring system.  Commerce Blvd strives for the best quality assurance testing in order to provide a guaranteed uptime of 99.9%.

Each server is equipped with mirroring hard drives to protect against data loss from hardware failures. Daily and weekly data backups are performed for added assurance. Entire servers are kept on-hand for rapid resolutions to hardware problems, helping to ensure minimal downtimes. Two climate control systems push 12 tons of cold air through the server room, and each unit has its own heat exchanger.

The facility operates off of a high-capacity power grid. In the instance of power grid failure, an alternate power grid is immediately available. In rare circumstances in which power grids are unavailable, our servers will be supported by a battery array with enough power to last as long as 30 hours, while the 2 megawatt generator starts up and powers the facility.  This generator contains 6,300 gallons of fuel on-site, allowing it to operate for well over 1 week without interruption. Additionally, we hold refueling contracts with 2 separate companies.  As yet another alternative, a power substation is present to take over indefinitely.

Commerce Blvd Technical Support

Our technical support team is both savvy and responsive.  We provide 24/7 email support to all of our web hosting customers, with a guaranteed response time of within 24 hours. In our many years of providing these services, we have never broken that promise. In fact, in most cases, emails are answered in an average of just 2-3 hours.  In addition, emergency situations can be handled 24 hours a day via a telephone paging system.

Our Net Monitoring capabilities are not only for our customers; we use them as well.  We always know of any server performance problems (or potential problems) as immediate as they occur, and we are able to repair them at the earliest possible second.
